I've been wanting to explore static site development, but I haven't had the opportunity to do so just yet... Well, as they say, you make your own opportunities.

When I was looking into options to create my blog, there were so many options. Although I did start down the path of WordPress and its plug-ins and I wasn't too thrilled about the security considerations... [img below] Sure I'm just paranoid, but it seemed to me that using WordPress means you must use (or at least are tempted to use) plugins and said plug-ins are more than 50% of the route that a WP site was compromised, so I decided on strengthening my Web dev skills and went another route. Static sites or Jamstack.

I've been wanting to explore static site development, but I haven't had the opportunity to do so just yet... Well, as they say, you make your own opportunities. Well, after looking into a few different static site generators out there I selected Eleventy. I was looking for something I could just get off the ground as quickly as possible and it was purported to be the "simpler site generator". Although once I read it was the "feral possum" of static site generators I was sold. -> daverupert.com
